We envision a community that is thriving culturally, economically, and equitably. Grove Hall residents will lead the movement for transformation in their community. Our grantees' ideas address core issues in the Grove Hall neighborhood including, resident organizing, food insecurity, physical health, building social connections, and creative placemaking. To foster independence and agency in women and girls in the Grove Hall community by providing them with their own hardware set which can be used to assemble furniture and make small household repairs.

This an event organized by justice impacted individuals to bring together various local organizations, businesses, and service providers in one location to showcase the resources available to the formerly incarcerated community.

This an opportunity for the community to come together under the issue of Public Safety whereby the BPD and BFD are invited to engage with Grove Hall residents, where food, resources and entertainment are provided.

Amplify the voices of the people that the Grove Hall community itself wants to celebrate. In doing so, the project will seek to represent, in a small but powerful way, the richness of a community that is too often overlooked or misrepresented in mainstream media coverage.
Masjid Al-Qur'an Education Committee Movie Series

This grant allowed an opportunity for outreach and networking with neighbors, organizations, businesses through multi language flyer distribution and inter generational family movie viewing with discussion and breaking bread and drink together. The grant allowed Masjid Al-Qur'an to set up the infrastructure for movie viewing and cultural events for the neighborhood.
Lleya P Sewing Project

The funds provided by the Grove Hall community were very useful for ordering the supplies needed for the workshop such as sewing machines, sewing kits, fabrics food and beverages for every workshop. During these 10 weeks they trainees learned how to be a better human being in our community by assisting those in need and be a role model. This grant supported this project by providing the funds to buy the materials needed for a successful completion of the workshops.
